On October 22, 1982, Victor Renard Powell, a senior music major student at Mississippi
Valley State University was in an accident at Disney World's Epcot Center, which left him
completely paralyzed from the shoulders down.
Today, Victor's health is better than expected, and his is very thankful to be alive. He enjoys
traveling, meeting interesting people, composing and arranging music, writing and working with children.
In 1992, Victor began developing ways on how to inform youth about some of the basic choices and
lifes-style decisions they will eventually face in life, and to give their parents, teachers and
society an opportunity to take that journey with them.
After several years of prayer, brainstorming, research and hard work, Victor has created a character
educational/entertainment project entitled, The Choices Friends.
Victor's sincere hope is that this project will help youth to discern
and make better informed choices and decisions that will have positive
results in their lives. In 1997, Victor dedicated this project to Mr.
Ennis Cosby, a Columbia University Doctoral Student, who devoted his life
to the special educational needs of young children.
